We received a basic kit. It includes wires, resistances, LED lights, a multimeter, a wire stripper, a breadboard, 3V coin battery, 9V battery, 9V battery connector, and power connectors.

Brainstorming

We shared our ideas on the interaction of the electric circuit. The fundamental rule: when a circuit is closed, a LED light is on. The first idea was making a Christmas tree. When a user pushes a branch down, the LED lights on the tree turn on. The second concept was building an umbrella. The LED lights turn on when the umbrella is opened, and they are turned off when it is closed. However, those ideas sounded a little complicated to make into reality. The last idea was Shaking Shoes, like shaking hands when people are greeting. When the shoes meet, the LED lights turn on at the edge of the shoes. We did not want to ruin our shoes; we tweaked the idea to the gloves. When the hands meet, the lights turn on. We also wanted to make the product to work together as one team. So we decided to make three pairs of gloves; when we are standing in a circle and hold our hands together, the lights should turn on. So meaningful!

The electric logic

We need a closed circuit, and it should be openable as well. We drew the circuit. There should be two touch points to make a closed loop. The drawing above was the very first draft when we were thinking of making Shaking Shoes.
